My Dearest Friends....

First, my sincere apology for not updating my blog. For those that are still visiting this little cyber world of mine, my heartfelt thanks to each and everyone of you. I have not been myself lately, so many things has been happening and I am under so much stress and pressure. I've been struggling the last couple of weeks with the fact that it pains me to see my mother in law in her state right now. She has gotten worse in the last couple of weeks or so. I can see it, everyone can see it. The doctor have personally spoke to me that she is in the stages of passing away. That is reality. On top of this, I am having some difficult time having to deal with a teenage daughter. Than again, this is another different issue altogether. To make matter worst, I had the worst migraine attack in my life. It lasted for a couple of days before it finally decided to go away. I was literally crying in pain, holding my head and was really really terrible.

So, back to mil, we have to actually take turns to beg and cajole her to eat even if its just a spoonful it has to be done. I did not get the opportunity to see both my parents at their final stages but having to see my mother in law at this condition is really heart breaking. I don't like seeing her bed bound most of the time being not able to walk because she is so weak.. but that is reality. I am not saying that she is dying today, tomorrow or even a week or month from now, but her health is really slowing down. Again that is reality. I'm not sure what God has in store for us, but for now, I am taking it one day at a time. I also pray to God that whatever the journey he has planned ahead, we shall all handle it with love and grace.

To my followers my sincere apology, I hope to be back into the scrapping world real soon. But than again I'm not sure when.

2011 is nearing to an end....
I'm just lazing around and about to read a new book I bought yesterday. I was browsing thru and saw a page and thought of sharing it with you here as we all bid goodbye to 2011.

Hello everyone :)

How are you today? Wowzer, Christmas came and left us in a flash and New Year is just round the corner.... So what has 2011 thought me...Hmmm....let me ponder...

Well it has certainly thought me to have more patience.. Yes patience...

Patience has thought me how to deal with my teenage daughter,

Patience has thought me how to cope, deal and take care of my ailing mother in law,

Thru patience I learned perseverance

Patience thought me that not everything you want you can get it right away..you've got to wait..you've got to be patient...it comes from inside

Because I was patient some of my prayers were answered...

It has developed me into a more stronger individual..

As I looked into other areas of what 2011 had for me I think, I am more happier now, if you ask me if I want to be back to 21, I would say no, because I am more at peace with myself now that I'm in my late 30s.

My life is complete...

I have a wonderful husband, great children, great in laws, great nephews.

I am not rich, but happy with what I have.

I am contended

I am blessed

Well so much of 2011, hope 2012 will be another great year for all of us..Let's start with a positive note and hope that it will bring us a mix of everything but abundance of love and happiness for the next 365 days.
Before I put a closure to 2011, I would like to share with you some of my favourite layouts for the year.

I have many more to add to my favorites but I'm afraid you will be dead boring by the time you reach the end so I better cut it short here..lol

Sharing with you
some Christmas cards I made....

Quite a traditional one..with the angels and fairies wishing you a Merry Christmas....

I played with my border punch and did this in less than fifteen minutes...

here's another one....

I remembered buying this flower last Christmas and did not have a chance to use it, I happened to see it again in between my stash today and that's how this card was born...It's very simple yet elegant (that's what I think)

Lastly, I altered a notice board and I really love how it turned out....

I had a little wooden circle and I worked on it like a Christmas wreath adding lots of Prima flowers and my favorite small tiny winnie clay flowers..I'm not sure if you can see it from this distance but if you were to look closely, it's sitting on the flowers and the wreath and everywhere around... I purposely added the red flower in between to give a more vibrant look and I think the burst of orange complement it all together..

With this, I would like to wish all my followers, my friends and those that have constantly been visiting this little humble blog of mine this :-

It's a wet Thursday morning...

here in Singapore... How are you feelin' today? Hope you have a good start to your morning :) Mine went just great, even though the weather is so nice to just sleep in..I was up and about at 7 this morning..Fixed breakfast for my dearies, do all other household chores and I have even cooked lunch..I'm just amazing sometimes, aren't we all are ladies :)

Ok back to the scrapping world...

Creative Scrappers came up with one amazing sketch this week and I know I must get my creative juice flowing.. (at high speed)...lol

The years go by and love grows....

with each memory we make. Here's one layout i just did, it's hot and crispy just out from the oven...lol

This is on me and my daughter...I love the sentiment..it's true that as the years go by, my love for her grows and can never stop growing...The laughter, the joy and tears we shared will each be a memory, a keepsake for my heart. She is no longer the small girl without the vanity....she was sweet, lovely, more acceptable, tolerant and would just listen to what I said...her social life and her outside world was less complicated..Life was easy for her. Since that time, many good and better moments have passed....she is much older and is walking into her teenage life now. She's a teenager, life changes, she change...more vain, more outspoken, more bold and brave and constantly need to be loved. We all love her, she is both lovely and smart, she has so much passion in her and she cares for those around her. With the good qualities she possesses, I'm sure it will carry her far.. So this page I made with love is dedicated to the delight of my heart..

Altered boxes....

hi everyone, how are you on this Wednesday morning?

Hope your morning has been treating you well :)

I altered two boxes yesterday and just wanted to share with you here...

Altered Box No 1

The box itself is gold in color and I didn't want to cover all up so I worked with the top of the box...

I layered the top with a patterned paper and added some ephemeras and tiny text.

Here's a little close up...

I kind of like how it turned out.. a little shabby vinatage

the box is not very bulky, it's slim and sleek..

I have not decided yet if this is going out to somebody, but for now I'm keeping it for myself..

Just love these flowers here...

As for this box, I'm giving this as a Christmas gift to my sil.

This is great for small little stuff like costume jewellry, bracelet, earrings etc.... don't you think so?

Happy Wednesday everyone..

how's your morning been so far? Hope you have a great start to your day:)

It's sunny and warm right now here in Singapore. It started to get a little cloudy and rainy usually in the mid afternoon and that's when you will feel sleepy and lazy... I'm always at home spending my time with the kids..nothing can be more precious than that. The three of us will just laze around, chat, play games,jokes and just being around each other gives us so much of closeness and comfort. It's usually In December where we get to have such closeness because of the school holidays and the festive moods all set in. My children are my joy and they are the flowers in my garden of life.. This is one silly photo of them... especially my son..he's so funny at times.. see what he did infront of the camera...

My son is very attached to me even though he will be 8 next year. Nobody can do anything for him except me. He must have all his meals with me and will wait for my cooking patiently even though he can be very hungry. He will accompany me in the kitchen while I prepare food for the family. He is never away from me not even a meter apart. Just like now, he's just lying down on the floor while I'm blogging. He's growing up so fast and yet he's still like a baby. He does silly things all the time and never fail to bring a smile to our face. Here is one page I did for him...

I did some stitching and played with some color..

and very loving indeed...

He is also very protective of his sister (my daughter). I pray that God keep them as happy and as close and as loving always..That's their sibling love..

In my earlier post

I mentioned that cross stitch is my first love. I 've been doing this since I was a teenager and until today it just doesn't go away. I have my latest creation i did not long ago.. Just wanted to share it with you here..sorry today's post is not scrapbooking related but its my cross stitch which took me 60 hours to complete in 10 days which makes it 6 hours per day stopping only for toilet break... Yup, I'm crazy I know but this is the result of my insanity....

these are two of my favorite letters from the name i stitched..letter G

and letter W

for whatever reason I don't know why but letter W is the largest here

and now this is the masterpiece

You see, it's all framed up already

and that's my sil name - GOWRI

and this is for her birthday next week - 7 december.

My sil is one amazing lady and she has so much love for her brother (my husband), for me and my children. She never fail to call me at least twice a day just to ask and make sure that we are all doing fine and are in good health. Yes she calls everyday.. every single day. That's why I said she is one amazing lady. I have never seen a lady like her in my whole entire life. She has so much love and warmth in her and I thank the Lord for giving me such a wonderful sister in law. Her love is so unconditional and her care and concern is felt all over. I hope to be able to snap few photos of her and post it here sometime next week and I will describe more about her after that.

So I hope this piece up there will be one of the best birthday gifts for her and as much as I like this, I know she will like it even more.. because my sister in law is one of a kind.. she's special she's unique..

Hello Friends...

Oh wow..its already the second day of December. Time really flies and of all you know Christmas will be here really soon. Hope you not in the festive mood just yet. I will be doing my Christmas shopping sometime late next week. As usual when December comes, it's always raining and weather is rather cooling and the skies are grey. It feels so good. So hope you are really enjoying this last month of 2011 and is always happy creating..like me, I did some scrapping yesterday and would like to share with you here...

inspiring blog challenge...Once Upon A Sketch. I must admit that I have missed out on some of their challenges due to some personal commitment in one way or another. Trust me I never failed to pop in their site even though I never join in the fun. But this time round I shall never give this a miss. Their journalling criteria is to write two sentences on the best thing of being a WOMAN. I thought this is awesome and before i missed their dateline again, this is mine....

Well the best part of being a woman for me is

being a mother..

Motherhood completed my life...

Being a mother makes me complete, it is the most precious thing in my life..

I've learned to be more tolerance, more thoughtful and stronger as a person

On being more tolerance:

When they were born, I too was born to be a mother..I developed a new perspective on life. It's a brighter outlook, driven by jubilant laughter and enthusiasm rarely found in the adult world, reminding me to always take a step back and enjoy such moments in the increasing fast pace of life. I've learned patience as I struggle to walk the fine line between encouraging their curious nature and ensuring their best safety. I've learnt to be more tolerant, watching their genuine kindness towards others...

On being thoughtful :

Their style, their creativity and their vibrant imaginations have inspired me to be more thoughtful. I can never imagined living a single moment of my life without them.

On being stronger :

Their independence has encouraged me to be stronger, their energy keeps me active and their innocence keeps me grounded. Lastly, their spirit fills me with hope.

Motherhood has thought me many things and its thanks to them for making me a better person. So there's no denying here...being a mother is the best part of being a woman. To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides. Of course they make me complete being their mother but my husband makes me complete being his woman. I'm blessed. Thank you Lord for everything...

Another altered art

I did from an empty Louis Vuitton box. My dearest hubby has many of these empty boxes which he kept neatly in his drawer. I was cleaning his closet just the other day and found this and I thought that it would be nice to alter it. I took one and this was what I did...

Flower are from Melissa Frances & Prima

Those two little blue birdies are from my stash bought ages ago.. it's actually an iron-on

Recycled Prima packaging and cut it into a circle.

Metal corner embellishment also from my stash..

Added some rose bud (my own)

You see that...

Prima packaging nowadays are so versatile..You can always use them one way or another.

Since I'm a flower fanatic and Prima is my bestie..all of their packaging I'm keeping for future use...lol

Some of you must be wondering where on earth have I been? I've been disappearing again, yes I know...

Well there's two reasons actually...

Reason no 1:

I have been doing this for the past one week or so.. I have to get this ready, all framed up before December 7. Yup, December 7 is my sil birthday and I thought that nothing could be better than this.

Cross stitch...

Yes, I have been stitching everyday for at least 6 hours in a row, stopping only for toilet break. I'm crazy, yes I know, but I just can't stop. While doing this, I always wish that there are more than 24hours in a day. My daughter thought that I have gone completely insane..She's been seeing me at the same position at the same place everyday since last week doing my cross stitching. Hahaha, she doesn't know the pleasure that I got from this.. Just to share with you, I started cross stitching at the age of 14. This was my first love before scrapbooking came about. I kept my first design and subsequent from than till now. It's been more than 20 years and looking back at all the patterns that I had and had done, I feel so proud of myself. Even though I am now a scrapbooker, the love for cross stitch is still in me and it will remain there forever. This is one "art" that requires and takes a lot out from me..to name a few would be..patience, determination and perserverance.. I have all it takes and that always make me feel good...

Now...

Reason No 2:

My poor big baby has been sick. He's down with fever on and off which is driving me crazy.. He got invaded by the flu bug. There's some virus in the air despite me cleaning and disinfect the whole house everyday mopping at least twice a day. I change his bedsheet twice a week. Blanket washed every week... hmm.. what else did I never do? I need to be a virus detector sometime I guess...lol..

anyways that's him taken just an hour ago..he refused to face the camera but that's how he is now... lying on bed most of the time...

now you see... these are the reason I've gone missing...

I hope to finish up my cross stitch by tomorrow and will try to be back onto the scrapping world real soon...

Message in a bottle.....

You see I've always have this urge to alter a bottle for a very long time. Now when I have the opportunity to do so, I think I won't just stop at here. Here's my altered bottle i did over the weekend..

This was from an empty wine bottle. I washed and dried.

I than poured some alcohol ink inside and outside of the bottle and left it overnight to dry.

The Prima flower was actually white but I sprayed it with glimmer mist (Pop Rock)

I was gambling when I was doing this...

I did a rub on directly onto the surface of the bottle here like so...

You see that!! Phew, lucky me the alphabets came out nicely and stick and sat nicely on the bottle..

Now I know you can do rub ons on a bottle too..I thought that was cool!

Next I tore some pages from a very very old story book, rolled and inked it and tie a little string to it and throw them inside the bottle. That should be the so called "message" in the bottle. lol

I wanted it a little interesting so I threw in a flower inside as well. You can see from the top photo its right there sitting nicely inside at the bottom of the bottle.

I wasn't too sure which glue to use so I opted for the glossy accent and trust me it made my work so much easier..

I than work my flowers from the tip of the bottle like as if they are growing from inside out

There you go...and if you see here closer. I actually twirled some old chain which is very thin in between the vines. I added these vibrant purple butterflies for some dimensions and finally some blings here and there for the final touch...

Once again this is my message in the bottle and I'm really loving it so much...

It's now sitting at a corner in the kitchen on my vanity top. hee....lol

You know something....shhh... I'm now working on a chivas bottle.. another altered bottle

I will come back here again when I'm done...shh...shh...

Hello friends, this page above was done on one of those days when my

mojo refused to work with me...lol

On the other hand, she wanted a simple page on herself and I thought oh well, why not go back to basic.

I have been doing a little bit of sketching and coloring these past few days..I don't know why, but I think I'm a little switched off with scrapping.. I'm not an artist (even though I wish I am) but coloring and sketching seems to be very relaxing for me these days.

I just came from Nadia's blog and was reading her story there... She's one amazing friend of mine through the scrapbooking world. Hello....my scrappy friends...today I want to show you a page i did which took me almost 3 to 4 hours to complete this. Why so long? I don't know, but there's always this little tiny bits here and there that i want to add on for the final touch...

So how have you been doing my dearest friends? Hope you are doing just fine and is always staying healthy and happy. As I'm doing this entry now, it's raining cats and dogs outside and it's very dark now even though it's only slightly past 5pm.

I did a simple layout yesterday evening and I finished it in a jiffy...

I was not really into full gear but I thought ah well...why not..so I did this page

I completed this photo of me and my sister not too long ago. Sisters are sometime the amazing people to be around with. My time with my sisters are always full of laughters. Even though we seldom talk or meet each other as often as we should, we all know deep inside how much we care and love for each other. There has never been a time when sisters will let you down. I always thank God for giving me such a wonderful sisters that I can call friends. This page is specially for my sister and I hope she will like it as much as I do...

Good Morning my dearest blog reader...

How are you this Thursday morning? Hope you had a good start to your day. I am going to share with you a page layout i did for my all time favorite Once Upon A Sketch blog. I was quite sad because I wasn't able to join in their last couple of challenges, as I was really tied up taking care of my mother in law. I was dying inside to do my scrapping but time just does not allow me to do so. Now that I am able to manage my time better, I'm glad to say I can now get those creative juice flowing again. At this point of time, my mil is in the hospital recuperating from a fall she had about two weeks ago. So you see, I'm now out playing with my papers, scissors and glue again. Ok back to OUAS, my sincere apology for not being able to join in the fun, but believe me, I never failed to visit your blog and the design team members blog for inspiration even though I can't do much. For those of you who are wondering what OUAS is all about.... please please visit this most inspiring blog and read for yourself what they have in store for you.. There are so much to see and so many wonderful creation from all over and the DTs forever and always does a breathtaking and awesome projects every month.

Precious moment
This is one picture that I'm sure my daughter will cherish and recall as she grows up. This is her moment with grandma (my mil)

Those corrugated board that I used was taken from my son's toy box. At first he was amused when I started tearing and peeling the excess from the board. This was when he was about to go to school one day..

Conversation:

Abhi : Mummy are you ok? What you want to do with those?

Me : Just you wait and see..I smiled

Abhi : Rolled eyes..don't tell me you want to use that for your scrapbooking?

Me : Yes, I told you ..just wait and see..First you need to go to school and when you come home in the evening you'll see a complete page ok

Abhi : Ok whatever....

and so he left for school and I completed this page one afternoon..

In the evening when he came home, the first thing he asked was...

Abhi: So what have you done?

I showed him and he was so so suprised

Abhi: Wow mummy you are so clever..this is very niceeeee.....mummy... can you do one like this with my photo? but I don't want so many flowers... Since you took my toy box, it's only fair that I have one too...

So mummy did another page... and here it is...

Hi friends, how have you been doing? Hope you have a great start to your Thursday morning. it's been raining here and the weather is just so beautiful with some cool air and wind to enjoy and appreciate. The weather just set everything right :) I hope you are doing fine and is always happy with whatever you are doing. I did some scrapping these past few days.. I thought of doing more today, but being Thursday, means "new arrival" at the LSS. I'll be going down town to get some stuff, especially since they have the new collection of Kaisercraft in store. Hmm...how do I stop myself?

And finally it's done....

I completed this quite sometime ago, it's just that time does not allow me to post here. Finally I got the chance today and will be showing you what I have been doing while my mil was sleeping. Phew....I badly need to get my creative juice flowing...Otherwise if it gets stagnant, I think I will have to stop scrapping altogether...Sigh! and I think I will cry for the rest of my life... lol

I played with chopsticks again...I think I kind of like that as part of my embellishment at this point of time. Will it remain or will it eventually go away, I'm not sure, but for now I'm enjoying using chopsticks a lot... hee......

This is one simple card I did... for a very very dear friend...

I don't really used much blue, but after I got this done, I thought it's not bad after all....

Let's play with chopsticks....

I was asked to make something for the upcoming Teacher's Day which is just around the corner. My daughter requested that it should not be too "heavy"...something simple but nice. She came back from school early one day and I managed to get the creative juice flow again. I played with chopsticks and this is what I made...

These are slightly bigger than a normal card. The messages from the students will go right behind. She likes it and of course my little man wants it for his teachers too... He said,"take your time, you still have more days to go." hmm...what can I say, I can only sigh....lol.

So how have you been doing? I have missed out a lot on challenges especially my favorite and most inspiring blog - Once Upon A Sketch. Creative Scrappers is also one of them. Not forgetting Prima. I am still trying to adjust my time..(time management) so that I can put aside some hours in a day for myself to scrap, to release my stress and tension. I'm trying, please bear with me, and I thank my followers for your understanding and patience. I will try to update my blog as often as I can..I promise..

I've been wanting to go to our LSS to grab some yummy goodies..I hope I can make a trip to town today.

Happy Birthday Singapore!

Yesterday was our 46th National Day Celebration, which means that it was a Public Holiday and all was at home. I took the opportunity to do some scrapping even though I was dead tired from doing all the household chores. I came up with this little card and really love the colors here...

Hi all....

I'm still here and still alive...How have you been doing? My sincere apology for the long disappearance..as I have mentioned before, my mil is quite sick and has been in and out of the hospital and infact she was admitted again last week and was only discharged over the weekend. She is now putting up with me. I am taking care of her 24/7 and hope I can make her as comfortable as I could. I'm helpless at times, but I'm sure she understands. She's still aware of her surroundings, it's just that she can't communicate and has lost her appetite to eat. Like I said, I'm trying to make her as comfortable as possible and hope that will relieve her from any discomforts she has...

Anyways, taking care of her is now my top priority, I have to slow down on my scrapping and infact I have been slowing down a lot since she has been sick. I hope you understand now the reason of my disappearing. Honestly, I miss my hobby, but situation is such that I have to constantly keep an eye on her and will have to neglect my passion for a while. I will still be scrapping but will be much lesser at the moment. Infact, as I am blogging away now, she is actually sleeping, let's see if I can get something done in a jiffy...

Good Morning Friends....

How are you this Thursday morning? I am doing just great and I miss my scrapping and I think I should be able to get something done today hopefully. My mil is on the road to recovery. Thank God she is getting on well.

Ok back to the scrapping world.... I am so so happy that I got a shout out over at Once Upon A Sketch. I want to thank Nadia, my new found wonderful amazing, talented friend who is also the founder of OUAS for her kind words and my recognition. To all the wonderful ladies at OUAS as well, thank you so very much. Please accept my humble thanks to all. This will really get me going. My DH was reading it yesterday nite, and I can say, he was equally happy and proud of me. I always thank God for giving me such an understanding and supportive partner that appreciate my craziness in scrapbooking. Good Morning Scrappy friends...

how have you been? Hope you are doing just great and have had a great weekend... It's already July and time is really flying fast. There's so many challenges in store and I hope to get my hands on them soon.. I've been rather busy lately and have not been scrapping much for almost a week already. Firstly I think I'm on a emotional ride given the problem that I'm having right now. It's very difficult but I have to face it and I cannot give up. I pray each night that God give me the strength to face the challenges that he has set for me. I read a book and it said :

Ensename: which means Show Me in Spanish

Ensename. Show me. A prayer to the Goddess, to the Universal Mother, to the Great Intelligence (whatever you called Him)

"Show me what I need to learn.

Show me what I need to let go of.

Show me the path to take.

Show me whatever you want to show me.

Show me how I can serve.

Show me new ways to love.

Show me what I am meant to do."

Ask for guidance, ask for signs, ask for direction, and it will come.....

Well so much of me hoping for here..and on the other hand, another reason I'm sort of MIA is because my MIL is in the hospital. She had a stroke last week and was quite in a terrible state. I've been visiting her everyday since she was admitted. Thank God she managed to pull through and is much better today and it did not caused her any physical damage. However, because of the severe stroke she had, she has lost her speech. Doctor said there is no guarantee if she will ever get back her voice given her age and the clot in her brain. She is 88 years old. Anyways, I hope things will all fall back in place soon..

Let's hope and pray... Sorry for the non-scrappy related bits up here.

I kind of like this stamp because not much pressure is required

when stamping and the image is very detailed...

Hello Scrappers...
today I have an interesting page to share with you....I did lots of handwork on this..
This is for Creative Scrappers #162
This is the sketch by Aphra Bolyer..thanks so much for the inspiration...

And this is my take...

Faux stitching fonts that i'm falling in love with....

Bought from our LSS here last week..i'm really loving the stitches around the alphabets there....

The flowers there, I actually drew them myself. I tore pages from an old book. First I used a brayer with glimmer mist and go over it to give it a more aged look....I than use a little paintbrush to draw the flowers and leaves, also with tattered angels glimmer mist...Dry them with the heat tool gun, and when its completely dried, I go over with a white gel pen to outline the flowers.. lastly I added some blings for some dimension.. This was really fun to do.. I learnt this techniques from the Youtube by Shimmerz. I don't have Shimmerz spray paint, so I used TA Glimmer Mist instead... You should try and discover it yourself and you will be amazed at how versatile they can be.. I know I was..

Next I did some stitching here... I used my leftover twines..poke some holes using my pin, and started my way in and out till I reached the top...It's my first time doing it and i think it won't be my last..

I think it's quite cool...lol

This is a page I did for my sister. It is something a little different from my usual. I did lots of distressing and also bubble wrap stamping on this one. She loves pink and i thought this will be perfect for her. Also at the same time I want her to know that I'll always love her. This one for you Shad :)

Anyhow...how's your Monday been so far? Hope you have had a great weekend..Mine was a great one spending time with DH. Today I'm totally shag.. the kids are back to school after a long month break I've been up and about since 7am. I was doing all the household chores... like a typical housewife would do. That's my daughter and my sister..both their names starts with letter S, so when I'm out of title like now....lol S & S came in mind. Again I played with chopstick and added my favorite rosebuds...

I'm loving the purple here..At times purple can be a little challenging to work with but I think,

with white base, it works well...

Another altered canvas....

This is the last one that I have and finally I got my hands on it. I love making altered art sometimes and these teeny weeny canvas which is about 5inch by 5 inch or maybe slightly bigger is really fun to work with.

Pardon me..I know I have used this photo before but somehow i really like this...

So that's my altered canvas..and the earlier one was for Prima's PPP. There's so many things one can do with canvas...like stamping, inking, misting, painting etc...For me, I did some inking and bubble wrap stamping. I tried working on some muted colors and I hope this is soft enough...lol

You see those rose buds...I just bought them from a friend. They are so sweet and so tiny that you can easily add them on any of your projects. Miss V thank you so much for getting me these. I really really love them so much. And you see, I used chopstick again, I must be addicted to this skinny wooden stick for one reason or another. I inked the stick with my versafine deep blue lagoon and clustered all my flowers and I twirled some thin green wire on it like as if they are really vines growing on a branch....lol

I will be working on Pencillines and Creative Scrappers sketches for this week today.

Once again...

I'm playing with the Prima's Build A Page for June. Somehow I think I'm always late at this..partly because, our LSS here does not carry a huge quantity of Prima products. Apart from Prima flowers and some embellishment here and there, there's actually nothing much you can get in store. So that's the reason, when I want to play along with their BAP I will take a little longer than usual coz i need to dig out my old stash to get some nice papers to work with..I hope they will bring in Prima goodies sometime soon... Ok I think I'm rambling too much here...

Instead of journalling..I used the Prima packaging, cut it into shape and replace the journalling with this. I have plenty of this, and when I can used it here, it's not bad after all huh? So you see, when you have those Prima flowers with this kind of packaging at the back, don't throw them away..they can be useful sometime..

Just saying hello....

and hope you have a good start to your Friday morning. This is the latest addition to my card making craze.. I just bought a Repositionable rubber stamps by HeroArts from our LSS here yesterday and immediately work on it as soon as I got home. Flowers are from Petaloo and of course Prima. I inked it with Worn Lipsticks added some lace and blings and Viola...it's done...

On a happier note.. My page for the May's BAP got featured on Prima's blog among other wonderful scrappers beautiful pages. I'm so honoured to be featured for the second time consecutively in two months. I never thought that mine will be picked again. Thank you so much, and for those whose pages are also up on the blog..Congrats. Just in case if you haven't noticed, Prima's blog has got a new skin with a new look.

I did a teeny weeny bookmark corner and loving it a lot. It's just a simple one and here it is...

This is Nadia's beautiful sketch to work with..

I flipped the sketch to my left and this is my page....

Ok this is one hilarious picture of my son. We brought him to Universal Studio at the Resort World here in Singapore. It was during their soft opening and we really had a great time there. You know how these characters like Franklin Einstein, Charlie Chaplin to name a few will just walked around and you can snapped photo with them if you want. Ok out of nowehere there was this Joker that was walking and jumping around and was walking towards our direction. My son saw him and immediately ran and hide under a nearby table behind the stool. He got the fright of his life when he saw this "zebra man" (his description of him, not mine)..lol. He was so panicked and refused to get out from under the table until the zebra man went out of sight. He was so hilarious. I caught him on camera. That was indeed one unforgettable captured moment.

I will definitely show him this page again when he grows up. He will than have a good laugh at himself. Silly boy....

Sisters...
Here's a page I wanted to share...They are my sisters that I usually hang out with..We don't meet often, so when we do, we usually snap pictures of ourselves..I'm loving the Dusty Attic Wire Dress here. I thought my page will be messy,but thankfully it turned out quite well...

Some Gentleman cards..
I did over the weekend, I wanted to do only one but ended up with four altogether..haha..it's addictive seriuosly..I got inspired through the net via YouTube..Thanks to Dawn from StampinUp for these..
Here you go...

You open it up by lifting the collar a little, and there behind the shirt with the tie, you can write your message. You can also fold up the sleeve, it will sit in neatly in an envelope if you want to mail it out. How cool.. It's super duper easy to do this!! You know how difficult it is to do a guy card right?

So with these..... it's a Yipee!!

I must have woken up from the wrong side of the bed today..lol Yup immediately after I freshen up, I took out my distress inks, my dabber, my wooden stamp and papers and started working on this..

Mind you..way before I even took my breakfast..I must be crazy...

My son was like..."so early in the morning?"

He must be thinking in his mind, what's up with my mom? Haha, that was funny..if only you could see the expression on his face..

So here's my card..my "morning breakfast" today...

I was smiling to myself when doing this. I cut out butterflies from the stamp to give it a 3d look.. I'm supposed to use a blending tool, but because I don't have one, I used a dabber instead so that's why the 3 colors doesn't really blend in well. I will definitely try this method again. I was inspired at Penny Black's blog when I was there yesterday. Every Mondays, their DT will inspired you with some stamping techniques. You have to spend sometime visiting their blog if you love stamping like me. They do amazing work.

This is something out of the box..

I wanted to try something different..I just bought a new set of Penny Black rubber stamp.

I was inspired when I visited their blog and that's how this card was born..

You can check the techniques here and have fun with your stamping.. It's really inspiring

I did some embossing here and colored it with my oil pastel crayons..

And now on to the next one...

Same rubber stamp but done differently..

I stamped and colored the flower and curled it a little to give some dimension..

I used my Faber Castell coloring pencils and spend about close to half an hour coloring this piece.

I also used Tim Holtz stamping collection and one of the K & Co Ephemeras.

I like this...it's simple and clean

Hmm..so you can see..I'm in a card making mood lately..but I have to complete some pages as well..

I'm working on these, a color that I've never worked on before,

and crossing my fingers that it will turned out nice.. lol

Real Life...

Hello friends, how's your day been so far? I have a page that I've just completed not too long ago and I'm really loving it a lot. This is my real life..being with the man I love, someone that is so supportive of my craziness in scrapbooking, who will bring me all the way out just to buy one rubber stamp, someone that is continuously encouraging me to never give up and I'm just loving my life with him by my side...

I have always love Creative Scrappers sketches, but due to some commitment that I had, I wasn't able to participate much but now that I am free from it, here I come again.

It's been a while I did a page on him and when he saw me doing it, he actually was very excited and help me to decide what goes where. It amused me..such a lovely boy.. He requested that I MUST not have too much flowers on it, and that the flower must be away from him. Lucky I have this webster's flower that is not so so girly.. You see, that's what I meant..a very boy page..lol

I'm just helping
to spread words...As mentioned, there's a new kid on the blog. It's called Scrap for Help and this is their cute badge..

It aims to unite people with different styles, to bring people closer to each other, to help promote togetherness. It's about SOLIDARITY. Right now they are having their first challenge, and the requirement is rather easy. Recycled material, and this time round you have to use bubble wraps and flags(banner) in your creation and the theme is LOVE. I just came back from their blog and saw all the amazing work of their DTs. Simply gorgeous!! Ok if you are wondering am I part of their team, I am not. I am just doing my part to help spread words. That's the least I can do. Their aim is for good cause and it's nice to do something good for others. So if you are reading this now, and wish to know more, than hop over to their blog and read in details what it's all about. This way you got the chance to see the take of the wonderful work of the DTs too :)

Beyond the Page

from Kaisercraft...I like how its called-Beyond the page instead of altered art. Well it depends on how you want to look at it. Anyways, I love doing altered art and Kaisercraft BTP has got me hooked to it even more. In Singapore, Kaisercraft product are not widely available, so whenever I see something that I knew for sure I can work with, I grabbed it fast.

Here is their BTP (Photo Display) that's what stated in the packaging...

Yup I unwrapped it and display it raw for you to see...

You see the patterned paper there..it's from DCWV
(the Blossom Song stack)

I got it at 40% off...shhh....Yah it's a good buy I know...lol

And tada... this is the final look

You see the papers are beautiful right? Lovely lovely....

So instead of a photo Display..I 'm using it for....

my bills....maybe also a to-do-list and notes...

I should start labelling them so that I will know exactly what goes where...

And because I do not want to waste my little left over...

I made this. I just completed this about half hour ago.. Still hot and fresh from the oven.lol

For me, a stay at home mum, I'm enjoying my time with my children. This is a much needed break especially for my first one.

Card making craze...

I think I'm in a mood of making cards these few days.. and I have been using my sewing machine quite a bit. I'm not sure how I'm going to keep all my cards but I know I'm not going to stop making it. My cards are 'overflowing' and here's some more to add to it...lol

You see I've been using my EK Success punch lately.

I just love this design and by the way the punch was a good buy..

I got it at 40% off...

On the cards I've used :

I sew on both cards

Here's another one which is totally different from the above..

oh no.... can't really see it from here..(((

I embossed the small white piece of paper there but it cannot be seen....

Anyways, this is a total different feel and look. Very sweet and bright and

can you see the bling at the side..

A good friend of mine ordered it for me from States. Infact I have few things coming in from there. We combined order and it's kind of cheaper that way. We all know the scrapping stuff has never come in cheap so when we do it this way, it's actually more worth it and we did save quite a bit. All thanks to my wonderful friend. I love the blings....

I must remember to take a more close up pictures of my cards...so that the details can be seen clearly.

May 15th Challenge

over @ Once Upon A Sketch will be ending in about 1 day 12 hours. Lucky me I completed my page just in time. I was working on this over the weekend. The criteria this time round is that your journalling should be typed. It so happened that DH brought home a typewriter not long ago and at moment like this the typewriter become very handy for me. It gives me a chance to practice my typing skills.(lol) Anyways here's my completed page.....

Honestly, when I gathered my papers, red was not in my mind. It was only before I adhere all pieces together that I thought of playing with red. The burst of red just make me so happy looking at this page. Hmm...and I thought, hey...it's not bad after all.

Another piece of altered art...

Hello friends :) How are you on this Sunday afternoon? Hope you are feeling terrific. I told you I went to this $2 shop called Daiso and I bought some wooden plank which is pretty much like a signboard. I decided to altered it a bit and this is what I've done...

I love the natural color of the wood, I just added the flowers, the welcome metal sticker and few butterflies from Martha Steward butterfly punch. I added some glossy accents on the butterflies to harden it a little and that's it I'm done....

Oh yes..there is a string attached so you can actually hang it up. This probably will go right infront of my house as a welcome signage...

I've been doing some cards since yesterday and is also completing the

challenge for Once Upon A Sketch.

Will be posting those tomorrow.

May BAP - Prima

Yes...it's time again to play Prima's Build-A-Page. This time it's using multiple photos...

And this is Prima's BAP for May

This is my take...

Honestly, this really took me a little longer than usual to complete.

I tried to follow the sketch as close as possible. I think this is the best I can get.lol

I 've used mostly Prima and played with TA glimmer mist.

So how have you been doing my friends? Hope everything is good at your end. I went to our LSS yesterday to replenish my Prima flowers and some other scrappy stuff. Made a visit to Daiso and bought some wooden signage and blocks and hopefully to come up with something in a day or two. Sometimes in order to get the mojo going, I switched to altered art and cardmaking instead of working at 12 by 12 all the time. It really helps for me, and if you are ever sick and tired or loss of ideas on 12 by 12, try switching to other methods of arts. As we all know, the possibilities never ends.

The final piece...

At last, after working on this for 3 days, it's all done up now and with these you can say that I'm really a Chanteuse collection fanatic. lol

Phew..these drawers thinge took a lot out from me.. but I'm happy that's it turned out the way just I want it to be..

I thought since the outside is quite nice why not do something with the inside.

So this silly me, embellished inside each drawer as well. So when you pull out a drawer, you will be greeted with some nice little flowers...

I think I will be using this to put my accessories inside..

That way, all my little earrings, rings, bracelets etc would not be all over the place..

I got my hands on the new K & Co Watercolor Bouquet Collection Paper. They are so so pretty..and also the little tag pads is a must have if you love tags. I made a little accordion album for my buddy and thought of sharing it with you here...

I love making altered projects and minis and this one is no exception.. The color coordination, putting little things together, add a little something here and there just give me the thrill. I get easily excited with these kind of things. I guess all scrappers do.

There is always a journaling criteria for every challenge that is up on their site. For this challenge, the journalling criteria is to write the reason you choose to scrap this photo. (eg: to remember this moment, to remember someone, to send a message to someone, because this photo makes you smile, the photo shows a personal achievement, etc etc). Your journalling can be handwritten, printed etc.. and it can be as long as you wish...

This is one cool site and I really enjoyed what I've done for their 2nd challenge..
I rotate the sketch and I used the latest Websters Pages Ladies and Gents collection.... and of course Prima embellishments...
Added them all up and viola....

The reason I choose to scrap this photo is because....

I want my daughter Saj to know that I'm glad she has choosen the right kind of friends..

Hello friends...

Days are jumping jumping jumping, I thought today is Wednesday but I have to like slap myself and realized that its Thursday.. which means its New Arrival at our LSS... Should i go or should i not go? I have been contemplating for almost 2 hours already... The ZVA Blings are like calling me crazy.. I love blings, flourish, swirls, flowers, lace...oh my goodness i'm going insane... Anyways... How's your Thursday been so far? Hope you are feeling just great today.. and had a good start to your morning

I used a red fabric added some lace and played with my K & Co die cut stickers..

Added some bling bling and it's done..

It's left with only some journaling but thought of letting you have a peek...

I altered this tinnie winnie 3.5 by 5 wooden board or frame (whatever you call it)

I used crackled paint and painted on it..ooo i love the cracking effect..

I used brown twine and go around the photo..i purposely do not want to give it a perfect circle..i prefer it this way...just to add a little dimension to the whole page..I had that prima gold leaf (say it with pearl) for the longest time ever, and finally, i got to use it for the right photo.

I also stitched on the side and used my martha steward border punch to give that lacey effect on the brown cardstock.

I played with some paint
and I'm really happy with the result. I'm not a messy scrapper, I like my page neat and clean but there was this urge that made me took out my MM paint, and when i painted it a little here and there, I thought to myself, hey...that's not bad after all...

So friends...How have you been? We are already one week into April..and this month I have a few celebrations coming up soon. Birthdays of course..
